About 9 years ago I had dropped something and bent over to pick it up. When I didn’t get up right away my mother asked me what I was doing on the floor? I was a bit embarrassed to say I couldn’t get up. That’s when I knew I had to do something about my weight and fitness or lack there of.
I started an exercise program of walking on my treadmill (yes I actually had one) and eating better. Six month’s later I had dropped 43 lbs and was up to actually jogging 2 miles at a time 3-4 times a week.
Over the past years I have gained and lost about 15 lbs repeatedly. I decided it was time to get serious again and started another workout program that was 45-90 minutes a day 5 days a week with walking or hiking on weekends. It is a 12 week program and I was able to drop about 23 pounds in just a few months with eating better as well.
When I started that program I liked it, but could only do about 10 push ups, a year later and I am able to do 35-40 with no problem. The issue for me was keeping up the grueling exercise routine of 5 days a week and the 45-90 minutes a day. Even though I liked the way I was feeling and looking the time commitment was almost impossible to maintain.
